Jade Wright officially began duties on July 1 as the Daviess County Conservation Agent, pending agent Vaughn Walters’ return. Mr. Walters was injured in an accident in the spring of 2000.
Mr. Wright, 25, graduated from Missouri Western College in St. Joseph in December of 1999 with a degree in criminal justice He recently completed a six month training course with the Department of Conservation in Jefferson City.
Mr. Wright was born and raised on a farm in Craig where he graduated from high school. After graduating from college in May of 1997 with an accounting degree, Mr. Wright worked in the accounting field for about a year.
“I didn’t like being inside,” he said. “I wanted to get outside and that’s how I became interested in the conservation department and wanting to become an agent.”
Mr. Wright is single. He is the son of Dennis and Lillian Wright of Craig. His father is a farmer and electrician and his mother is a high school business teacher.
