Berry, Davitt participate in PRIMO

Catherine Berry and Rochelle Davitt of Gallatin recently participated in the PRIMO College Prep Academy at Truman State University in Kirksville. Catherine is the daughter of Cynthia and Allen Berry and Rochelle is the daughter of Russell and Brenda Davitt.

Twenty-four 11th and 12th-grade students were selected to attend the Academy, hosted by Truman and the Northeast Missouri Area Health Education Center (NEMO-AHEC). Students attending the PRIMO College Prep Academy learn fundamental concepts of biology, chemistry and physics through laboratory and classroom experiences. In addition, they develop computer and study skills, visit regional medical facilities and meet with medical students, and spend a half day “shadowing ” a practicing physician in their area of medical interest.
