The annual city property tax public hearing was set for 5:45 p.m. on Aug. 13 at city hall during Monday’s regular meeting of the Gallatin Board of Aldermen

Gallatin Police Chief Jim Wycoff provided a report on another successful fund raiser for the planned teen center. Approximately $300 was raised through a garage sale.

City Administrator Jason Helton reported that a rate study of the electric system will begin next week and will be conducted by staff of the Missouri Public Utility Alliance.

Nancy Von Opitz made a brief presentation on plans to develop a small-scale assisted living facility at 912 South Daviess.

A bill to amend the zoning regulations of the city of Gallatin carried after first and second readings.

Bills in the amount of $75,396.79 were approved for payment.

During comments by aldermen Norma Griffin inquired about the fire department budget as it relates to the fire district ballot question on Aug. 7.

Bob Snidow led a discussion on year-to-date revenues and expenditures.

Mr. Snidow also thanked city crews for removing weeds along Park Street.

Gene Schweizer stated the electric rate study should be based on actual costs incurred by the electric system.

Mayor Davis discussed the operation of meetings under Robert’s Rules of Order.

The above are the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting for the city of Gallatin held on July 23 at city hall. Present were Mayor L.B. Davis, aldermen Bob Snidow, Norma Griffin, Shonna Morrison, Gene Schweizer and City Administrator Jason Helton.
