Farmers’ Electric Cooperative has announced plans to publish a cookbook this fall with all proceeds to benefit the Area Youth Benefit Fund.

The cooperative last published a cookbook about 10 years ago. FEC has also decided to reprint a number of the original cookbooks, with the profits also benefitting the Area Youth Benefit Fund.
Area Youth Benefit Fund is a 501(c)3 charity organization that was created by FEC in 1993. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance toward the payment of medical bills for
children 18 years of age and under. The fund is designed to assist families with children who have been ill or injured in which the parents do not have enough money or health insurance to
cover the medical costs.
The fund primarily operates in the counties of Linn, Chariton, Livingston, Carroll, Ray, Caldwell, Daviess, DeKalb and Clinton. A family who receives electricity from Farmers’ Electric Cooperative, but resides in a county not listed, also qualifies for AYBF assistance. A family that resides in the counties does not have to be a member of the cooperative to receive financial assistance.
