Vicki Woodward has become a National Executive Council Adviser (NECA) for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Vicki is one of 10 National Executive Council Advisers who will support a national officer. During the 2001-2002 school year, she will be the national adviser to Chase Cornett. Chase was elected National Vice President of Star Events, during FCCLA’s 2001 National Leadership Meeting, held July 8-12 in Anaheim, Calif.

The NECA will help their officers guide FCCLA members, which consists of young men and women enrolled in family and consumer sciences programs. They will represent the organization at national and state conferences and other public events. During the fall, they will attend workshops at Cluster Meetings, a series of four nationally sponsored, regional leadership training sessions.

Along with the other nine National Executive Council Advisers and the ten national officers, Vicki will travel to Virginia, to attend program-planning sessions at the organization’s national leadership center. She will receive professional development training, discuss her responsibilities as a NECA, participate in team building exercises and assist their national officer.

Also during the year, Vicki Woodward will help plan the focus and content of the adult sessions at FCCLA’s 2002 National Leadership Meeting, to be held July 7-11, in Minneapolis, Minn.

Vicki Woodward is from McFall and teaches at Pattonsburg High School. She has been an FCCLA advisor for a year.
