The second and third Music Camps of Excellence at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville was held the week of June 17-22 for eighth and ninth graders and June 24-29 for sixth and seventh graders. This is the 21st year for the music camps. Nearly 950 students in the sixth through 12th grades attended the camps, directed by Dr. Richard Weymuth, professor for music at Northwest.
Area students who attended the second music camp include Allie Michener, Lindsey Robertson and Haleigh Tague of Gallatin; and Katelyn Prescott of Jamesport.
Area students who attended the third music camp include Melissa Craig, Kate Jarboe, Katie Patton of Gallatin High School; Jonathan Arnold, Laura Makovec, Amy Anthuis, Danielle Critten and Emily Michener of Searcy Elementary.
