Funeral services for Harry A. Bassett, father of Monica Branstetter of Winston, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Family visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Harry A. Bassett, 69, St. Joseph, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at a hospital in Leavenworth, Kan.

Born in Mirabile, Mr. Bassett spent most of his life in St. Joseph.

During the Korean War, he served in the Army.

Mr. Bassett was employed in the maintenance department of Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc. in St. Joseph until retiring.

He was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Bassett was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; two brothers, Wilbur and Joy L.; a sister, Helen McVicker; and a grandchild.

Survivors include a son, Danny, St. Joseph; one other daughter, Katie Stanford, Marion County, Ark.; a sister, Millie Lewis, Burbank, Calif.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
