Risk management seminars are being offered to area agricultural producers, funded in part by the Risk Management Office of the USDA.
Agenda for the sessions includes financial analysis, developing a market plan, uses of futures contracts, options contracts and crop insurance in marketing plans. Attendees will learn how to analyze their financial records and develop a personalized marketing plan for their operation.
These seminars are being held for row crop operations from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following dates and locations in northwest Missouri: Aug. 21 at the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Maryville, Aug. 22 at Farm Credit Services in St. Joseph, and Aug. 23 at Farm Credit Services in Chillicothe.
The seminars are sponsored by Missouri Farm Bureau and Farm Credit Services, in conjunction with Ag Marketing Education, Inc. There is a $30 registration fee if received at least seven days prior to the meeting date; otherwise, registration is $50. Enrollment forms and more information can be obtained by contacting your local Farm Credit Services offices.
