Funeral services for Jack Brewer were held Sunday at Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Arrangements were by the Norman-Wagy-Gordon Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Chillicothe, with military rites. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home or Highview Baptist Church in care of the family.

Jack Elvin Brewer, 72, Chillicothe, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at the Chillicothe hospital.

Mr. Brewer was born in Powersville on June 26, 1929. He had spent his life in the Lock Springs, Jamesport and Chillicothe areas.

During the Korean War, he served in the Army from 1951 to 1953.

Mr. Brewer had owned and operated Brewer’s Barber Shop in Chillicothe.

Mr. Brewer was a member of the Jamesport Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

On June 7, 1953, he married Sara Beth Dixson in Jamesport. She survives of the home.

Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Shaw; and an infant brother.

Other survivors include two sons, Danny McClure, Anchorage, Alaska, and Mike Walker, Chillicothe; a daughter, Teresa Bradley, Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Virgil L., Blue Springs, and Oliver, Trenton; a sister, June McKenzie, Chillicothe; eight grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
