Mass of Christian Burial for Carol Himmelberg was held Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hamilton. Arrangements were by Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton. Burial was at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to her church.

Carol F. (Wood) Himmelberg, 64, Hamilton, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at a Kansas City hospital.

Mrs. Himmelberg was born and reared in Salem, Ill. She moved to Hamilton in 1960. Mrs. Himmelberg attended Northwestern University in Chicago for two years and earned a bachelor of science degree in education and home economics from the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Mrs. Himmelberg taught home economics for the Hamilton School District for seven years. She also assisted her husband, John, at his New York Life insurance agency in Hamilton for 30 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar Society and played the organ; and Chapter N of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, all of Hamilton; and Alpha Delta Pi sorority of the university. She was a former member of the Hamilton Literary Study Club.

On Feb. 13, 1960, she married John Himmelberg in Salem. He survives of the home.

Mrs. Himmelberg was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Wood; and a brother, Larry Wood.

Other survivors include two sons, Danny, Overland Park, Kan., and Michael, Kansas City; her father, Dr. Laurin E. Wood, Salem; and three grandchildren.
