On June 14, Martha Cook of Winston reported a burglary at Cook’s Antiques in Winston, across the highway from the Winston Pit Stop. Suspect(s) stole several rocks from the showcase and approximately $1,000 in fireworks.
Bonnie Thompson of Jamesport reported June 19 that a gazing ball had been stolen from her yard.
Ronald Orr of Hamilton, 41, was arrested June 14 for failure to appear for prosecution for non- support, a Class D felony, on a Linn County warrant. He posted 10% of bond, set at $5,000.
A 20-year-old Lawrence, Kan., man was charged June 12 with the Class A misdemeanor of possession of drug paraphernalia/possession of 35 grams or less marijuana. He posted $750 bond.
Todd R. Peterson, 31, of Braymer was arrested June 12 for driving while license revoked (fourth offense), a Class D felony. He posted 10% of his $7,500 bond.
A 23-year-old Washington, North Carolina, man was arrested June 17 for driving without a valid license, a Class A misdemeanor. He posted $150 bond.
A 45-year-old Henley woman was arrested for a peace disturbance, a Class B misdemeanor, when the sheriff’s office and the highway patrol responded to a call in Winston on June 18. She posted $250 bond.
The sheriff’s office received a total of 49 calls in the period from June 12-19.
