The Gallatin Police Department were busy with a rash of property damage reports earlier this month. Police suspect a single individual was responsible for the series of events occurring late in the evening of May 31 to the early hours of June 1. Police have made no arrests, and invite any information from the community regarding the incidents.
Property damage involving two separate victims occurred between 11 p.m. on May 31 and 7 a.m. on June 1. Cars were “keyed” or, in this instance, scratched with a knife. Vehicles were located at 308 W. Mill and 107 W. Van Buren.
Between 9:30 p.m. on May 31 and 8 a.m. on June 1 two racks of potted plants at Pamida were pushed into the parking lane at the front of the store located at 212 N. Main.
Between 4 p.m. on May 31 and 1 a.m. on June 1 property damage occurred at Daviess County Country Club when someone tore up the grass on the golfing greens with a dirt bike.
Between 10 p.m. on May 31 and 2:56 p.m. on June 1 a tire was slashed at 109 N. Main. Between 10 p.m. and 3:21 p.m. on the same date tires were slashed at 116 N. Market.
June 5 — property damage between 1:15 a.m. and 11 a.m at N. Main and Park St. The wing vent glass was broken in an automobile.
June 4 — report of a dog bite where skin was not broken at 305 East Berry. The incident occurred at 10:30 p.m. on June 3.
June 2 at 9:15 a.m. — peace disturbance at 115 ½ N. Market. An individual was taken into custody to Ray County Security Housing for a 20 hour hold.
May 31 at 10:30 a.m. — non-aggravated assault, domestic violence related, at 612 W. Johnson. The suspect was not present. A report was taken.
May 29 at 5:45 p.m. — non-aggravated assault, domestic violence related, at 215 ½ N. Market.
May 26 at 11 p.m. — driving under the influence arrest in Breaduex parking lot.
May 26 at 2:05 a.m. — public peace disturbance at West Grand and Market. Police took an individual into custody. Individual was housed overnight at Ray County Security Housing, a private jail.
May 22 — report of property damage which occurred between 5:30 p.m. on May 21 and 10:30 p.m. on May 22 at 801 Shona.
May 21 at 2:20 p.m. — miscellaneous investigation at 602 S. Olive.
May 17 — A woman reported her purse stolen at Lynch’s Supermarket. The purse, which contained no money, was recovered behind the Coke machine outside the supermarket. Nothing was missing from the purse.
May 16 at 1:50 p.m. — Gallatin Police Chief Jim Wycoff was the victim of a non- aggravated assault at the Gallatin High School. Chief Wycoff was not injured.
May 14 at 6:05 a.m. — property damage at 602 Van Buren.
May 14 at 7:20 p.m. — domestic violence related, non-aggravated assault at 201 E. Park.
May 2 at 12:46 p.m. — recovered property at 801 S. Main.
May 2 at 1:15 p.m. — miscellaneous investigation at 112 E. Grand.
May 2 at 7:45 p.m. — recovered property at 902 S. Prospect.
May 2 at 7:55 p.m. — auto accident at Grand and Main.
