Modern Woodmen Creative Writing Essay Contest recently offered North Daviess R-3 students an opportunity to develop their writing skills while providing an experience for personal and academic accomplishments.
Winners of the writing contest were Beth Morris, first place; Steven Steinman, second place; and Crystal Cook, third place. The students received trophies and ribbons in honor of their achievements. Their names will be engraved on the school’s Creative Writing Essay Contest plaque. This year’s topic was “When I Grow Up.”
Students from North Daviess participated on May 18 in the Modern Woodmen Civic Oration Contest at the high school. The first place winner was Crystal Cook; second place winner was Nicole Ray; and third place winner was Amy Williams. Their names will be engraved on the school’s plaque, and each of them received a trophy and a gold award pin.
Gold award pins were also given to the ranking finalists: Steven Steinman, Beth Morris and Shannon Dutro. Local Modern Woodmen representative is Richard Holt.
