Jamesport, Winston women moderately injured.
A Jamesport woman was moderately injured in a one vehicle accident two miles west of Jamesport at about 4:50 a.m. on May 26, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as Bonnie Smith, 42, was westbound on Rt. NN. At the end of the pavement, Mrs. Smith lost control and traveled into a ditch on the north side of the road and partially overturned. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side.
Mrs. Smith was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The 1986 Ford Ranger received extensive damage and was left at the scene at the owner’s request.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. R.A. Sherman, assisted by Tpr. D.J. Walker.
Mrs. Smith received a summons for DWI and officers posted an incarceration report number.
A Winston woman was moderately injured in a two-vehicle accident about two miles west of Winston at US 69 at I-35 in Daviess County at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 25, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as a vehicle driven by Charles McDaniel, 21, Olathe, Kan., was traveling north on I-35, and turning east on US 69, and pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Barbara Uthe, 49, Winston, which was traveling eastbound on US 69. Mr. McDaniel’s vehicle was struck in the driver’s side.
Mrs. Uthe was taken to Cameron Community Hospital by the Daviess County Ambulance. Mr. McDaniel was not injured. Both driver’s were wearing seat belts.
Both Mrs. Uthe’s 1994 Chrysler Concord and Mr. McDaniel’s 1997 Eagle Talon received extensive damage and both were towed by Bridgemans of Altamont.
The accident was investigated by Sgt. J.H. Thompson, assisted by Trp. T.B. Gardner and KAW Rescue.
Mr. McDaniel received a summons for failure to yield after stopping.
