Officer Mark Richards addressed the sixth grade class during their D.A.R.E. graduation. In order to graduate from the program each student had to write an essay about the D.A.R.E. program and how it has made an impact on their knowledge of drug and alcohol awareness. The winning essays were written by Alyssa Strein, Emily Michener and grand prize winner Charles Lollar. Also speaking to the graduates was Prosecuting Attorney Julia Rozell. The Gallatin Police Department has been the sixth grade Partner in Education.
