Dr. Frances Shipley, dean of the Graduate School at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, announced the names of 60 students completing advanced degrees at the conclusion of the 2001 spring trimester.
Local NWMSU degree recipients include Kelly Ann Warren of Gallatin, MSED-Ed Leadership: Elementary, and Denise Carlena Leeper of Pattonsburg, MSED-Ed Leadership: Elementary.
Hannibal-LaGrange College held its 143rd Commencement Ceremony Saturday, May 5, in the Mabee Sports Complex. Nancy Ellen Bandelier Duffy of Kirksville, formerly of Gallatin, received a Bachelor of Religious Studies.
Associate degrees and one-year certificates were conferred upon 283 graduates during commencement exercises held Saturday, May 12, at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. The ceremony was held in the Ketcham Community Center with an outdoor reception to follow.
U.S. Representative Sam Graves was the commencement address.
NCMC’s Student Senate President Corey Wallace presented the class of 2001, and NCMC President Dr. Walter Nolte and Dean of Instruction Dr. Marlene Tignor conferred degrees. The NCMC Board of Trustees and the College’s associate deans assisted with the presentation of diplomas, certificates and honors.
Honors recognition was given to those students who had achieved outstanding academic performance. In the graduate list that follows, * indicates students graduating with honors (3.5-3.84 GPA), while ** indicates students graduating with highest honors (3.85 or higher GPA), # indicates area students pinned during Associate Degree Nursing program pinning ceremony. Associate in Arts degrees are abbreviated as AA, Associate in General Studies as AGS, Associate in Applied Science as AAS and certificates as CT.

Daviess County students completing the Associate Degree Nursing program at North Central Missouri College in Trenton were recognized during a pinning ceremony on Saturday, May 12, in the Ketcham Community Center. This is the 26th graduating class for the program.
Dr. Walt Nolte, president of the College, was the speaker. Thirty-four graduates received pins from the NCMC nursing faculty..
NCMC’s Level II Nursing program is a two-year course of study that prepares students for licensure as registered nurses. NCMC graduates’ passing rate of the state test meets the national norm. Last year, NCMC’s Class of 2000 Associate Degree Nursing graduates enjoyed excellent placement; all 34 were placed immediately into nursing jobs at an average salary of $15.71/hour.

NCMC’s Associate Dean of Allied Health Sciences is Janet Vanderpool. The Level II nursing faculty are LeNell Dalrymple and Georgia Schilling. A reception for family and friends followed the pinning ceremony in the Sugg Conference Room of the Ketcham Center.
