All Missouri residents paying child support through the circuit court will mail payment directly to a centralized collection agency in Jefferson City beginning July 1, 2001. This change in law is the last step in the 1995 federally-mandated automated child support system.

Re-direct notices were mailed this week to custodial and non-custodial parents in the Missouri Automated Child Support System (MACSS) instructing them to mail all child support payments to the Family Support Payment Center, P.O. Box 109002, Jefferson City, MO 65110-9002.

These re-direct notices were sent to all child support and spousal support cases in the state, including closed and inactive cases. Payers whose cases have been ended should disregard the notice. Those who are currently making payment to the Daviess County Circuit Clerk should send their next payment to Jefferson City.

Non-custodial parents are reminded to write their social security number and MACSS number on every payment. The collection center will accept personal checks or money orders. Do not send cash. Within two working days after receiving the payment, the agency should cut a check to the custodial parent.

Individuals or employers wishing to send payments to the centralized collection agency may call the circuit clerk in the county where the order is filed for the correct MACSS Number or other information. To access the automated payment information in Jefferson City, call 1-800-225- 0530. You may obtain additional information regarding the Family Support Payment Center at the website www.dss.state.mo.os/cse.

Daviess County Circuit Clerk Linda Adkins and Deputy Clerks Georgia Maxwell and Patty Fitzmaurice extend appreciation to the many parents who have made payments through the local office and regret that this is a service which they can no longer provide. If you have questions during the transition period, please call 660-663-2932.
