Helen Marie (Brown) Barlow, age 89, of Gallatin, Missouri, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at the Daviess County Care Center, Gallatin, Missouri.
Mrs. Barlow was born September 15, 1911 in Jameson, Missouri and had resided in Daviess county for all of her life.
She attended and graduated from Jameson High School, Jameson, Missouri, in 1929. She was a homemaker.
Miss Helen Marie Brown was united in holy matrimony with Mr. Forrest Robert Barlow. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1966.
Mrs. Barlow was a member of the Gallatin United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Corinthian Chapter #112, Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Gallatin Rebekah Lodge #96, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Gallatin, Missouri.
Mrs. Barlow was also preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Dorothea (Lewis) Barlow; her sons, Robert Edward Barlow and Eugene Brown Barlow; her brothers, Ned Brown, Ralph Brown, Hubert Brown and Jack Brown; and her sister Faye Webb.
Survivors include her son: Jerry B. Barlow of Basehor, Kansas and her sister, Doris Lynn of Gallatin, Missouri; her seven grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; and a host of dear family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at the Gallatin United Methodist Church, Gallatin, Missouri, with Rev. David Fitzmaurice officiating. Comforting music “Amazing Grace” and “The Last Rose of Summer” was provided by Mrs. Sandy Evans and Mrs. Ann Schweizer. Family visitation was held before the services at the church with Eastern Star services under the auspices of the Corinthian Chapter #112, Order of the Eastern Star, Gallatin, Missouri. Pallbearers serving were Mr. Mike Barlow, Mr. David Barlow, Mr. John Whitfield, Mr. Roy ‘Burr’ Woody, Mr. Charles ‘Blackie’ Wortman and Mr. Lyndell ‘Bud’ Kirkendoll. Honorary pallbearer was Mr. Donald ‘Doc’ Woody.
Interment was held immediately following the services at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home. Services were under the direction of the Hope-Eldringhoff Funeral Home, Gallatin, Missouri.
