Placement statistics released this week by Brenda Brown, placement coordinator at North Central Missouri College, indicate higher-than-average placement rates for 110 career/vocational program graduates in 2000.

Compared to the state overall average of 92%, more NCMC graduates were placed (98%), and more of the NCMC placements were in related fields (87%, compared to 69% statewide). The NCMC total placement percentage for career program graduates has been at least 95% since 1989.

Also, student satisfaction with the College’s preparation for employment was very high.

For quality of instruction, grading and testing, and instructor interest, “very good or good” was the rating given by 94% of students. For curriculum and content, 92% of students gave ratings of very good or good. “Usefulness in performing job” was rated even higher: 100%.

The average salary reported for all career programs was $12.07/hour, with Associate Degree Nursing graduates earning the most ($15.71/hour).

“To many students and faculty, employment rates and wage levels reflect the value employers place on our graduates. NCMC has consistently maintained this high level of performance,” said Julie Hefley, associate dean of vocational and technical education.
