The 2001 Gallatin High School prom will be held Saturday, May 5 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the elementary gymnasium. Prom lineup begins at 7:15 p.m. with the promenade at 7:30.

Prom night is one the deadliest nights for teenagers across America. The all-night prom lock-in party provides a safe, chemical-free and fun-filled alternative for our students. This year’s party, “Beach Bash,” is in its final planning stages. The doors will open at 11 p.m. and students will be admitted until 12:45 a.m.

Included in the evening’s activities will be entertainment, movies, many games, and great food. Juniors and seniors do not have to attend prom to go to the lock-in.

This year’s lock-in committee is led by Lesa Leeper. Committee chairmen are as follows: Deena Hendricks, food; Carla Wilson, fundraising; Vicki Henderson and Theresa Thompson, decorations; Mariea Borges, games; Tammy Gay, entertainment and cleanup. Many other volunteers will be assisting at the lock-in.

The prom lock-in is entirely funded by our very generous community. Expenses, however, have increased, and donations would still be very much appreciated. If you wish to make a contribution, please contact the high school principal’s office. Your donation will help create an evening of lasting memories for our youth.
