Funeral services for Oved Daniel will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Roberson Funeral Home in Pattonsburg. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Pattonsburg, with military rites by VFW Post #2176 and American Legion Post #216, Bethany, and VFW Post #5329 and American Legion Post #106, Albany. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends after 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, 64424.

Oved N. “Dan” Daniel, 81, Jameson, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at the Liberty hospital.

Mr. Daniel was born in Pattonsburg.

He served in the Army.

Mr. Daniel was an auto mechanic for the Ford Motor Company. He served for two terms as mayor of McFall.

On Aug. 10, 1942, he married Betty Landes in Albany. She survives of the home.

Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendola Spiers; and two brothers, Jimmy and Eddy.

Other survivors include two daughters, Nancy Pool, Cameron, and Barbara Johnson, Berthoud, Colo.; five sisters, Letha Shipers, Coffey, Eulonda Breeze, Hamilton, Julia Cornett, Pattonsburg, Kathleen Scott, State of Washington, and Wanda Youngs, McFall; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
