A benefit event is being planned for April 20 to help a 3-year-old boy battle infantile scoliosis. Colton Place, son of Zack and Kelly Place of Independence and grandson of Nevin and Delores Place of Hamilton, must have life saving surgery at San Antonio, TX.
This special surgery, expected to cost $100,000, will be to install a titanium rod device. Colton then faces additional surgeries every four to six months to alter the devise as he grows into manhood.
The benefit event is slated for 7 to 11 p.m. On April 20 at the William Thurman Center, located at the junction of Noland Road and Truman in Independence. Food and live music are planned.
Colton’s grandmother, Delores, works at Rains Natural Meats in Gallatin. For those wishing to donate, an account has been set up at the Hamilton Bank in Hamilton.
