Nellie Mae (Kephart) Herbert, 81, St. Joseph, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Funeral services for Nellie Herbert, a native of Jamesport, were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to her church or the Joyce Raye Patterson Senior Citizens Center.

Mrs. Herbert was born in Jamesport.
She was a receptionist in the offices of Drs. Ryder and M.T. Aldrich, O.D., in St. Joseph.
Mrs. Herbert was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and Joyce Raye Patterson Senior Citizens Center, both in St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, George B and Samuel Kephart; and two sisters, Mildred Krull and Velma Gunselman.
Survivors include three sons, Ted, Madison, Ind., and Ken and Michael, both of St. Joseph; a daughter, Karen Henke, Gillette, Wyo.; a brother, Harry Kephart, St. Joseph; a sister, Nettie McDonald, Cameron; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
