High school youth tour state capitol during Farm Bureau trip
More than 360 junior and senior high school students participated in Missouri Farm Bureau’s annual Youth Leadership Day on March 29. The one-day seminar focuses on the role of government and the responsibilities of citizenship. Sponsored by Missouri Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Programs, a highlight of the day was visiting the State Capitol House and Senate chambers. Dr. Rick Hardy, associate professor of political science at the University of Missouri in Columbia, discussed our unique political system with students who also heard from Matt Blunt, Missouri’s newly elected secretary of state.
