Eight vocalists advance to state music contest

Gallatin R-5 vocalists who received I ratings at the 1A district music contest held at Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville on March 30 were Anna Barton, vocal solo; and the sophomore miscellaneous ensemble of Jessica King, Priscilla Ford, Rachel Toney, Amanda Bohannon, Katrina Calhoon, Emily Baldwin and Mariah Gibson. Receiving II ratings were Kara Sullenger, vocal solo; Melissa Froelich, vocal solo; and the mixed miscellaneous ensemble of Robert Heldenbrand, Luke Leeper, Wes Gay, Christina Cox, Christina Hood, Katie Moyer, Kara Sullenger and Amanda Boyd. Receiving III ratings for vocal solos were Pam Walker, Catherine Berry and Stacy Craig. Sheryl Warren is the vocal music instructor.
