Funeral services for James Estes, father of Vicki Uthe of Winston, were held Saturday at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial was at Graceland Memorial Cemetery, Cameron.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Comfort Care Hospice in Cameron.
James S.L. “Jim” Estes, 60, Cameron, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Estes was born in Cameron where he attended school and was a life-long resident.
He was employed by Sloan Monument Works at Cameron and Cameron Concrete. He was also a self-employed mechanic.
On July 19, 1963, he married Bonnie McKown in Cameron. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Gary W., Cameron, and Jimmy B., St. Joseph; three half brothers, Kenneth, Arizona, and James and Leroy, both of St. Joseph; two sisters, Doris Neal, Bakersfield, and Shirley Cochran, Maysville; a stepsister, Betty McFadden, Kansas City; four
half sisters, Darlene Castaneda and Freda Lawson, both of California, Brenda Broce, St. Joseph, and Delores; and three grandchildren.
