The Missouri Department of Conservation will sponsor a hunter education class on Friday, April 6, from 6-9:30 p.m. and on Saturday, April 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gallatin High School Vo-Ag building.
Students must attend both sessions to be certified. Hunter education certification is limited to persons 11 years of age and older.
Students under 16 must bring proof of age to class. Seating is limited, therefore, each student must preregister and pick up a manual at the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
It is the responsibility of each student to read all materials and answer all questions in the chapter reviews before coming to class. The class is free of charge. Missouri law requires all persons born on or after Jan. 1, 1967, to have an approved hunter safety certification card which they must display to permit vendors before they can purchase any type of firearm hunting permit.
If you have any questions, call Conservation Agent Alan Bradford, 816-583-7323. For a complete listing of hunter education classes in northwest Missouri this spring, contact the Missouri Department of Conservation office in St. Joseph at 816-271-3100 on weekdays between
