Funeral services for Hobart Harrah were held Monday at Bram Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Old Scotland Church of Christ Cemetery, near Jameson. Memorials may be made to the Old Scotland Cemetery Association in care of the funeral home.

Hobart Franklin Harrah, 91, Gallatin, formerly of St. Joseph, died Friday, March 9, 2001, at the Cameron Community Hospital.

Mr. Harrah was born on the family farm in the Old Scotland community near Jameson. He was reared in that community and graduated from Scotland school.

A farmer, Mr. Harrah owned and operated the Harrah Construction Company in Jamesport for several years. He retired in 1972 as a heavy equipment operator from Bestgen, Inc. in St. Joseph.

Mr. Harrah was a member of the Operating and Hoisting Engineers Local 101 Union in St.

Joseph. He was also a member of the Old Scotland Church of Christ near Jameson. He was a congregational song leader, and served as custodian and caretaker of the church and cemetery grounds.

On Aug. 3, 1929, he married Iva Christine McDonald in Chillicothe. She died on Aug. 2, 2000.

Mr. Harrah was also preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Ruth Harrah, Mabel Harrah and Gertrude Corbin.

Survivors include one son, Gordon L. of Gallatin; one daughter, I. Nadine Hillyard of Union Star; 13 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
