North Daviess R-3 Elementary School received a 3×5 outdoor U.S. flag this week from the now discontinued V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary 8824 Pattonsburg. The flag was the last project of the auxiliary before closing.
The school was needing a flag and asked the group for a replacement flag. Due to the bad weather this winter, each date set for the presentation had to be canceled. Avonda Hamilton, Lavena Lowrey, and Janellda Weber, auxiliary members, are grandmothers and mother of three of the students.
Students included, Nicole and Jessica Henderson and Brianna Weber. Their teachers, Mrs. Chandler, Mrs. Steiman and Mrs. Nelson received the flag for the school.
