Donovan and Deon Johnson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at two receptions. The first will be at the Dearborn Methodist Church on Feb. 17, from 2-4 p.m. The second will be at
the Christian Church in old Pattonsburg on Feb. 18, 2-4 p.m. They were married at that church on Feb. 18, 1951, also a Sunday. The Rev. Al Edlund officiated.
Friends and relatives are invited to both receptions. It is requested that no gifts be given. Cards may be sent to 16001 Z Highway, Dearborn, 64439.
Mr. Johnson retired from the Social Security Administration in 1989, but has an antique store in Dearborn and preaches at the Oak Ridge Church northwest of New Pattonsburg on Sundays.
After 30 years in the teaching profession, Mrs. Johnson retired from the North Platte School District in the spring of 2000. She is now employed at Wal-Mart.
The receptions will be hosted by their children and their spouses: Valerie and Ron Engelken of Agency, Rhett and Kelly Johnson, Shadran and Dorwina Johnson, Travis Johnson and Simbra Johnson, all of Dearborn. The Johnsons have eight grandchildren.
