Ross Peniston, 78, Chillicothe, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at his home.
Funeral services for Ross Peniston, a native of Daviess County, were held Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Arrangements were by the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Livingston County 4-H and FFA Fair Grounds, and be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Ross Peniston, 78, Chillicothe, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Peniston was born in Daviess County. In 1953 he moved to Chillicothe from Gallatin.
He served in the Marine Corp. in the South Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Peniston was a farmer, a grain and livestock producer, and a breeder of registered swine.
On May 5, 1946, he married Floya Verelle Peniston in Cameron. She died on Nov. 9, 1980. In 1988, he married Phyllis Paul Jones. She survives of the home.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe.
Mr. Peniston was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin; and two nephews.
Other survivors include one son, Charles Ross (Charlie)Peniston, Chillicothe; one daughter, Kathryn L. (Kathy) Breeden, Chillicothe; one sister, Eleanor Dinehart, Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
