J.D. Volk, son of the late Alberta and Elmer Volk, died Feb. 6, 2001, at his home in College Station, Texas.
Mr. Volk graduated from Gallatin High School with the Class of 1949. He served four years in the Air Force. He earned his bachelor and masters degrees from the University of Missouri at Columbia School of Agriculture.
In 1959, he married Shirley Hasse of St. Louis. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Volk.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jan and Douglas Volk of Bryan, Texas; and a sister, JoAnn Worssam of Overland Park, Kan.
