Worth County girls and Tri-County boys advanced in the 31st Annual Gilman City Tournament.

The top-seeded Worth County girls and #1 Tri-County boys had no trouble advancing to Thursday’s semifinal round in the 31st Annual Gilman City Tournament. The same was true for the #2 North Daviess girls and #2 Princeton boys, who will also play again on Thursday.

The Tri-County boys upended North Daviess, 75-23, on Monday to earn a semifinal berth. Wade Dixon led the Mustangs with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Matt Prescott totaled 13 points and Clay Fewins added 12 for Tri-County. Brock Griffin pumped in 18 points to lead the Knights. Tri-County now faces Gilman City Thursday at 6:00.

The North Daviess Lady Knights ripped Tri-County, 47-9, in their opening round game. Mandy Williams led the way with 15 points and Darcie Iddings and Lindsay Hunter each added 12 points for North Daviess, which takes on North Harrison Thursday at 4:30 in the semifinal round.

The top-seeded Worth County girls will face Cainsville at 7:30 Thursday in semifinal action. Princeton’s boys will square off against Worth County at 9:00.
