Laura Angeline (Watkins) Critten, 103, Jamesport, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 23, 2001, at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services for Laura Critten will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Bram Funeral Home in Jamesport. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery, Jamesport. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Antioch Cemetery in care of the funeral home, 501 N. Locust, Jamesport, 64648.
Laura Angeline (Watkins) Critten, 103, Jamesport, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 23, 2001, at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Mrs. Critten, a homemaker, was born in Daviess County, northeast of Jamesport. She was reared in Jamesport and attended the Charity Rural School five miles northeast of Jamesport. Mrs. Critten had spent most of her life in Daviess County and Jamesport.
She was a member of the Antioch Methodist Church before it was razed in the 1970’s. Since then she has attended the United Methodist Church in Jamesport. She was also a member of the Charity Neighborhood Club.
On Dec. 20, 1919, she married James Carl Critten in Trenton. He died on Sept. 1, 1983.
Mrs. Critten was also preceded in death by three brothers, Hugh, George and Ottie Watkins; two
sisters, Thelma Call and an infant.
Survivors include one daughter, Emily Alice Harrington, Jamesport; two sons, Marvin Ross Critten, and Deward Wayne Critten, both of Trenton; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
