Graveside service and internment for Helen Seat, a former teacher at Pattonsburg, were held Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Butler Cemetery in King City. Memorials may be made to the King City Manor Service Unit in care of Gibson Funeral, P.O. Box 552, King City, 64463.
Helen Alwilda Seat, 90, King City, formerly of Union Star, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at a King City health-care facility.
Ms. Seat was born near Darlington. She was a graduate of Stanberry High School and William Jewell College, Liberty. Ms. Seat had lived in Union Star for several years before moving to King City in 1997.
She taught for a number of years in St. Joseph, Kansas City and Pattonsburg.
Mrs. Seat was a member of the Baptist faith.
On June 1, 1939, she married Lawrence Littleton Seat. They later divorced.
Other survivors include several cousins.
