Funeral services for Gary Pugh, a former resident of Jamesport, were held Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Bram Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Grand River Cemetery, Jameson.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home, 1329 W. Grand Ave., Gallatin, 64640.

Gary Lee Pugh, 52, Bates City, formerly of Kansas City, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Pugh was born in St. Joseph. He was raised in Lawrence, Kan., and Jamesport and graduated from the Jamesport High School in 1968. He graduated from Platte College of Commerce in St. Joseph with a drafting and design engineering degree.

Mr. Pugh operated his own machine tool design company in Bates City before retiring in 1994.

He was previously employed by the K.W. Dart Company in Kansas City and Precise Tool Company in Lee’s Summit as a mechanical engineer.

Mr. Pugh was a attended the Olive Baptist Church, east of Gallatin.

On March 15, 1969, he married Frances Allenbrand in Albany. They later divorced.

Survivors include two sons, Darren of Kansas City and Brian of Columbia; his parents, Marion and Lucille (Bozarth) Pugh, Altamont; one sister, Joyce Curtis, Altamont; and his fiancee’, Sharon Surbaugh, Bates City.
