Herbert L. Harris, 92, Jamesport, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his residence.
Funeral services for Herbert Harris will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Shelburne Baptist Church, southeast of Hickory. Burial will be at Shelburne Cemetery. Family visitation is form 7-8 p.m. Thursday, at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home, Trenton. Memorials may be made to the Daviess County Health Department or Jamesport First Responders in care of the funeral home, 813 Custer, Trenton.
Herbert L. Harris, 92, Jamesport, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Harris was born near Hickory. He was a graduate of the Trenton High School and American Auction School in Kansas City.
Mr. Harris, a farmer, raised milking shorthorn cows and showed them in competition.
He was a member of Shelburne Baptist Church.
On Dec. 24, 1927, he married Ruby Brummitt at Chillicothe. They lived in California for two years moving back to the Hickory community in 1930. She survives of the home.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois J. Boon;; a grandchild; a brother, Gerald Harris; and two sisters, Lela Wyer and Mildred Harris.
Other survivors include a son, Delvin Harris, Jamesport; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
