The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) reminds parents to keep their children from playing in snowdrifts along state routes.
Children playing in snowdrifts or tunneling underneath the snow along our roadways are putting themselves in danger. The drivers of snowplows often have low visibility because of blowing snow, which could make it very unlikely for them to see children who might be playing on snow banks.
MoDOT realizes that many children are home from school because of the holidays and inclement weather, and children will want to take advantage of the opportunity to play outside. Parents, please remind your children to keep a safe distance from all roadways.
