The Gallatin Adventist Community Services (ACS) is pleased to give a report on the past 11 months at the Center. There were an average of 17 volunteers each week, donating 3,032 hours of service during this period.
An average of 70 families were helped each month. Most of these families came every month to receive the free items or shop in the Thrift Shop. The total persons helped were 1,501, with 751 miscellaneous items given, 6,774 articles of clothing, 370 pairs of shoes, 58 articles of bedding, and four layettes distributed to new mothers in the area.
Franklin Wilder continued his “bread route” with 988 pounds of baked goods given away through the Center. Lynch’s Supermarket donated day-old bakery items.
Many others of the community and outside our area made donations of clothing and other items that were shared with those in need. Friends and family help in the yearly Christmas Day dinner, which the ACS is planning again this year. Volunteer workers also come from the Christian, Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Mormon and RLDS churches.
