Wednesday and Thursday night semifinal rounds of the Gallatin

Invitational will provide strength tests for 4 teams that hope to

do well in Grand River Conference play. Maysville’s #4 girls meet

top-seeded Gallatin at 7:45 tonight. South Harrison’s #2 boys

square off against #3 Gallatin, the defending GRC champ, at 7:45 on

Thursday.

Maysville ran its record to 2-0 by easily defeating the #5 Hamilton

girls, 54-25, on Monday. Sophomore Stacey Curtis led the Lady

Wolverines with 21 points. The 2-0 Gallatin girls blew past #8 Tri-

County, 51-15, behind the hot hand of Erin Sweatman, who gunned in

24 points. Rochelle Davitt added 13 points and Roxi Davitt chipped

in 10 for the Lady Bulldogs.

Trenton, the #2 girls seed, easily dispatched Gilman City, 87-22;

and #3 South Harrison withstood a 4th quarter rally to down #6

Winston, 40-34. Trenton and South Harrison face off tonight at

9:15.

Gallatin’s #3 boys defeated Gilman City, 75-48, to advance to

Thursday’s semifinal round. South Harrison, the #2 boys team,

ripped Maysville, 73-40, to move on. Gallatin put a quartet into

double figures, led by Robert Heldenbrand with 19 points. Brice

Garnett tossed in 15 points. Jake Humphrey and Joey Evans added 12

and 10, respectively. Jason Tibbles led Gilman City with 15 points.

In Tuesday’s other boys games, top-seeded Trenton downed Winston,

88-23, and #4 Hamilton withstood an upset bid to defeat Tri-County,

52-47. Trenton plays Hamilton Thursday at 9:15.

Tonight’s consolation bracket features the Tri-County girls against

Hamilton at 4:45 and Gilman City girls against Winston at 6:15.

Thursday’s consolation bracket play pits Maysville against Gilman

City at 4:45 and Tri-County against Winston at 6:15.
