COUNTY COMMISSION

Following are approved minutes of Oct. 23. All members were present.

The commission discussed ways of making the courthouse more accessible on election day. David Holcomb moved that employees not park on the upper level of the parking lot on the day of election, reserving that area for voters. David Tolen seconded. Carried.

Linda Adkins, DeLana Wright, Julia Roselle, Judy Carder and Teresa Eaton met with the commission requesting a change in policy for the observance of holidays matching the state’s. David Holcomb moved to close the courthouse on Nov. 10 in observance of Veterans Day. David Tolen seconded. Carried. A revision of the holiday schedule will be addressed in December.

Daniel Lynn, bridge supervisor, and James Lewis, foreman, met with the commission regarding the installation of a dry hydrant and routine repairs.

The commission discussed the annual meeting with the Daviess County Country Club Board agreeing that no meeting was necessary.

The commission inspected the attic for leaks in the roof. Jerry Harris was instructed to make the repairs.

Bid openings were set for Nov. 20 for bridge #1480011 and Nov. 27 for bridge BRO-031(19).

Joe Salmon met with the commission regarding water wells at the Coffey site.

The clerk reported having received a claim check from the insurance carrier in the amount of $1,363.10 for damages to a deputy’s car when a deer was hit.

Joe Reed, Harrison Township trustee, met with the commission to file that township’s financial statement. The $20,000 equipment grant was awarded.

David Holcomb moved that a portion of the meeting be closed according to RSMo 610.021(2) regarding real estate transactions. Danny Heldenbrand seconded. Carried.

Dana Urton, Health Department Administrator, met with the commission regarding health insurance.
