On Saturday, Oct. 7, four members of Mr. Steigerwalt’s Mapping the Environment Class and four members from the Stream Team loaded up and headed to Bennett Springs to camp and float the Niangua river. That evening the eight students and their sponsors arrived at Riverside campgrounds and set up camp. The next morning, the students headed down the river. It was cool but sunny most of the day with moderate winds. The Niangua was low for the first mile and the students spent a lot of time walking. They stopped at the NRO campgrounds for lunch. Students are pictured, left to right, Chris Baker, Jake Rutherford, Catherine Berry, Brady Feigley, Meredith McCann, Jeromy Holcomb, Rachel Toney, and Stephanie Swanstone. [Submitted Photo]
