Thelma Mae Smith, age 69, of Bethany, Missouri, passed away, Friday, October 13, 2000 at Crestview Care Center, Bethany, Missouri.

She was born January 27, 1931 to Oscar and Agnes (Manual) Murry in Gallatin, Missouri.

She married Ernest Dale Smith on July 16, 1948 in Hamilton, Missouri, he survives of the home.

She worked at the International Shoe Factory, Hamilton, Missouri, for eleven years prior to retiring. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

She is also survived by two daughters, Mary Hudson, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Martha Kiepert, of Florence, South Caroline; three sisters, Shirley Miller, of Coffey, Missouri, Frankie Harvey, of Leesburg, Florida, and Vada Newton, Jackson, Michigan; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at Hope-Eldringhoff Funeral Home, Gallatin, Missouri. Rev. Ray Smith officiated. Ann Schweizer was the organist with Sandy Evans singing, “Peace in the Valley” and “Life’s Pathway to Heaven”. Pallbearers were Bill Murry, Walter Stephens, Lyle Smith, Lavonne Lee and Keith Lee.

Burial was in the Mt. Ayr Cemetery, Altamont, Missouri.

The family suggests contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
