Funeral services for Joe Dennis were held at the Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000. A Masonic service was held Friday evening. Burial was in the Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highview Baptist Church and left or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, 64601.

Joe E. Dennis, 69, Chillicothe, died at the Liberty Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

Mr. Dennis was born in Humansville.

He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955, during the Korean War.

Mr. Dennis owned and operated Longwood Parts and Service, Inc. in Chillicothe since 1989.

He was a member of the Highview Baptist Church, Odessa Masonic Lodge number 476, and a former member of the IOOF in Odessa.

On March 29, 1957, he married Loretta Noe in Odessa. She survives of the home.

Mr. Dennis was preceded in death by his father; twin brothers Denny Lee and Donald Lee in 1940; and one sister Viola Fern McGill in 1986.

Other survivors include his mother, Lola Dennis of Humansville; four sons, David Cerrino of Delhi, Calif., and Mike, Timothy and Curtis Dennis, all of Chillicothe; one daughter, Lisa Albin of Chillicothe; one brother, Darrell Dennis of Hawaii; four sisters, Dean Boyle of Lowry City, Mae Boyle of Humansville, Lula Tunicca of Bakersfield, Calif., and Cheryl Dennis of Humansville; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
