Members of the Gallatin V.F.W. Post #2172 honored Quartermaster Jack Mooney last Wednesday, Sept. 27, with a plaque for his commitment and persistence in obtaining nine M-1 rifles. The rifles are used in a gun-salute at military funerals. Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion are invited to join the Military Honors Program and help keep the tradition of remembering fallen comrades. Pictured is Commander Gary Redmond presenting the plaque to Mr. Mooney. The veterans met at Pat’s Diner for the occasion. [Staff Photo/TLH]
