The Jamesport Area Chamber of Commerce held an organizational meeting on Sept. 13. The Board of Directors were voted in for the coming year, and officers were elected.
Janet den Hartog is president of the Jamesport Area Chamber of Commerce; Roger Hanson is vice-president; Debbie Allen is secretary; and Linda Anders is treasurer. Theresa Thompson and Jane Martin complete the board of directors as members at large.
The purpose of the Jamesport Area Chamber of Commerce is to encourage tourism and to promote the commercial and economic interests of Jamesport and the surrounding area. At this meeting, members discussed ways to accomplish this purpose. Several projects were set in motion.
At previous meetings, the organizational bylaws were written and passed, and a membership brochure was created. The Jamesport Area Chamber of Commerce became a licensed non-profit corporation in 1998.
