Supt. David Michael gave Winston R-6 board members an update on the building project at their Sept. 21 regular meeting. Construction has begun on the project with site preparation and sewer and water hookups.
Elementary enrollment figures are 110 in grades K-12 and 13 in preschool, with a 95% attendance rate for the preceding month. Enrollment in grades 7-12 is 83, with 98% attendance for the preceding month. Overall enrollment is up 14 over last year.
The board heard and accepted 1- and 5-year senior follow-up data and guidance program reports from high school counselor Carrie Crouse and the federal programs administration report from elementary principal Lisa Bielby.
A crisis plan was adopted.
The next regular board meeting is set for Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Attending the Sept. 21 meeting were Supt. David Michael, elementary principal Lisa Bielby, board members Roger Barker, Bob Clark, Gary Caldwell, Barb Youtsey, Julie Clark, and Chretta Mastin. Not present was Wayne Uthe.
