Memorial services for William Elam were held Sept. 14, 2000, at McGilley Antioch Chapel, Kansas City. The body was cremated.

William E. Elam Jr., 90, Kansas City, formerly of McFall, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at a North Kansas City hospital.

Mr. Elam was born in McFall.

He worked for Trans World Airlines as a sheet metal mechanic, retiring in 1972.

Mr. Elam was a member of the IAM Union.

In 1936, he married Luella Persinger. They moved to Kansas City in 1942. She died in 1999.

Mr. Elam was also preceded in death by one brother and six sisters.

Survivors include a son, Larry, North Kansas City; three daughters, Judy Moore (formerly of the Coffey-Pattonsburg area), and Sharlyne Narr, both of North Kansas City, and Linda Fatkin, Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren, including Gene Nelson, Cameron, Victor Nelson, Pattonsburg, Bill Nelson, Gallatin, and Jim Nelson, Kansas City (formerly of Pattonsburg); and 11 great-grandchildren.
