Students have many things to concentrate on at the beginning of the school year. This year, Sarah Hemry will have a little less to worry about. Hemry, of Gallatin, was recently awarded the Campbell-Harrison: Margaret Wilson Mangel Scholarship from the College of Human Environmental Sciences at the University of Missouri-Columbia for the 2000-2001 academic year.

The Campbell-Harrison scholarships were funded from the sale of a cooperative house and are named for supporters of the college. This scholarship is named for Margaret Wilson Mangel, dean emeritus of the college and a former adviser and housemother for the Campbell Harrison Cooperative House. This $2,000 award was endowed to help students in the college pay for the expenses of their education and to reward them for excellent academic work and leadership activities.

Hemry, a sophomore majoring in environmental design, is an officer and member in Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She also is an HES Ambassador and a member of the Little Sisters of the Pearls and Rubies.

A 1998 graduate of Gallatin High School, Hemry is the daughter of Joyce Hemry of Columbia and Warren Hemry of Gallatin.
