One year ago, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) succeeded in their efforts to have Route 36, from Hannibal to St. Joseph, renamed the VFW Memorial Highway. This is the first and only highway in Missouri to have a single dedication name from state line to state line.
On the first anniversary of last year’s dedication, the VFW will host a mini-dedication for two additional identification signs to be placed on Route 36 eastbound and westbound on either side of Interstate 35.
The Master of Ceremonies for the event is VFW National-Aid-De-Camp James A. Skahan, and the dedication ceremony has been scheduled for: Thursday, Sept. 14 at 10:30 a.m. (anticipated to last approximately one hour) at the Missouri Veterans’ Home in Cameron.
The VFW cordially invites the public to come and join them in this unique event honoring all Americans who served in the armed forces.
